Things We Can Do

Supporting our customers from end-to-end, we are familiar with mainstream Microsoft and Apple software products, as well as industry-standard web development technologies.

Specific familiarity provides expertise in the following subjects:

  • Apple iOS (Objective-C and Swift)
  • Android (Java)
  • Windows (.NET)
  • SQL Server (T-SQL)
  • Web/Azure/Node.js (HTML/CSS/JavaScript)

A Few Accomplishments

Since 2013, Mustard Seed Software has partnered with several large university medical centers, including:

  • Medical University of South Carolina
  • Vanderbilt University Medical Center

Additionally, software written by Mustard Seed Software has been used at:

  • University of Kentucky
  • University of North Carolina

These partnerships have blossomed out into other projects, most notably a suite of mobile applications written for ASRA (American Society for Regional Anesthesia).

The following list is a sampling of mobile apps written by Mustard Seed Software for Vanderbilt University Medical Center and ASRA:

ASRA Coags Regional

The first application written in a joint partnership with Vanderbilt and ASRA, this application (available for both iOS and Android) provides a physician with quick access to the published ASRA Anticoagulant medical guidelines.

ASRA Coags Pain

Following the successful release of ASRA Coags Regional, this related product was released (on both iOS and Android) to give physicians quick access to the 2015 'Interventional Spine and Pain Procedures in Patients on Antiplatelet and Anticoagulant Medications Guideline'.

Already approved! Coming in April 2016

Another app developed in concert with Vanderbilt University Medical Center, the pEcho app allows a physician to quickly enter results obtained from performing a TEE (Transesophageal Echocardiogram). This mobile app (coming soon for iOS) will inform the physician with a relative severity for each entered value and will also guide the physician through a question-and-answer algorithm to determine whether a patient is a good candidate for an aortic or mitral valve replacement surgery. Additionally, a proprietary "live heart" image interaction UI was developed to allow physicians to quickly enter heart segment evaluations and get a color-coded image representing the patient's overall heart function.

What's in a name?

The name "Mustard Seed Software" comes from the bible. The reference we intend is:

31 He put another parable before them, saying, “The kingdom of heaven is like a grain of mustard seed that a man took and sowed in his field.
32 It is the smallest of all seeds, but when it has grown it is larger than all the garden plants and becomes a tree, so that the birds of the air come and make nests in its branches.”
(Matthew 13:31-32, ESV)

The meaning is that our systems can appear to be the smallest of changes, but when software is done correctly, even small programs can grow to have tremendous positive effect!
